Polymer-Coated Steel
Our Daiwa engineers have perfected a unique method
of applying a polymer coating to tin-free steel for use
in can making.
We use a chromium or tin based steel with a polymer
coating that combines the best characteristics of steel
and plastic for packaging purposes. This safe, versatile
and attractive packaging material is already used in a
range of cans, domes, cones, easy-open ends and
rings for peelable ends. From beverage to fish, from
shaving mousse to paint, it is also suitable for
non-packaging applications.
Polymer coated steel benefits:
BPA free
Lighter than three piece steel (tinplate)
4.5 times less CO2 is emitted in the production of steel
than the production of aluminum
Elimination of the need for solvent-based linings and
coatings; reducing VOC emissions, energy usage, and
hazardous wastes
100% recyclable
